3D diorama of the Carolina Mantis stalking the Ambush Bug on Goldenrod. Diorama was created to be realized as 2D art for XPLOR magazine published by the Missouri Department of Conservation for the young people of Missouri. Note the similar and muscular forelegs of both insects used for grasping and holding their prey. The Ambush Bug has mouth part that is jabbed into prey for sucking out its meal whereas the Mantis has cutting mandibles to eat its prey alive.
